Oddly enough,
one of the least requested tours we have on the Big Island are the
bicycle tours. I don’t know if its because people just don’t think of
bicycle rides because of all the other spectacular and exciting tours
available on the Big Island, but the island of Hawaii really lends
itself to some of the best biking (trail rides, mountain biking and road
trips) in all of Hawaii.
Your touring options are extremely varied and can accommodate the most
experienced to the least experienced rider. A sampling of bike tours in
Hawaii alternatives are as follows:
A beginning to intermediate ride the descends over 3500 ft. from the
heart of the Kohala Mountains. This trip is almost all downhill and
makes for a thrilling adventure.
An advanced road tour the traverses both the ups and downs of the Kohala
Range for those more physically fit.
For those who
wish to experience waterfalls on your biking adventure a tour has been
created which takes you to the Waipio Valley and down along the Hamakua
Coastline. You’ll go over bridges and old roadways. This bicycle tour
can be put together in various ways to accommodate either beginners or
very advance riders.
How about a
bike trip that begins at a coffee farm the visits the historic Painted
Church in the South Kona region and descends to Kealakekua Bay and the
City of Refuge.
For the
accomplished riders there are even tours provided which will traverse
all five volcanoes of the Big Island within a six day time period.
Luggage support is provided. A portion of this trip is on the roadway of
the famous Ironman Triathalon.
For those that
truly like to get off the road entirely we even have tours which go down
the cattle trails and off road areas of the beautiful Upcountry
ranchlands.

The best way
to experience the sights, the sounds, the smells, and the textures of
Hawaii is from the seat of a bicycle.
Stop and take
a picture when you want to. Slow down to enjoy the sights and all the
new aromas. Feel the freedom of an exhilarating down hill run. Explore a
side road. Ride an ancient trail and see some ancient cultures. See some
rare plants & trees. See some lava that is fresh and some that is
ancient. Look for some rare birds. Maybe get a little sweaty and get a
little dirty! Do all those things that you could never do on a bus, but
most of all have some fun while you learn about the geography and the
history of The Big Island!
There are rides for all abilities and interests, so bring your spirit of
adventure and your favorite shoes, and we’ll have great bike ride here
in Hawaii
