THE KAUAI SNORKELING EXPERIENCE
Kauai
snorkeling, with its attendant snorkel boats, snorkeling trips, snuba
adventures, snorkeling from shore, family snorkeling activities and
various other tours are among the most interesting activities that Kauai
has to offer.
Kauai's coastline is both varied and beautiful ranging from the more
gentle inlets and coves of the Poipu and south shore region to the
dramatic, isolated and incredible shoreline of the Na Pali Coast.
Kauai
has a large fleet of snorkeling boats and snorkeling charters offering
trips that traverse the Kauai shoreline which is often teeming with
marine life. Dolphins are very often a part of the marine landscape on
many of the snorkeling charters and the whales seen off the Kauai coast
during whale season are often many more than the island is generally
given credit for. Many snorkeling areas also include extensive coral
reefs and a full complement of reef fish.
Kauai
is also one of the few islands that provide snorkeling trips that depart
from the shoreline rather than from a boat. These trips will take you
via van to some of the very best snorkeling locations and the water
entry from the beach often makes the snorkel experience a bit less
intimidating for the less initiated. These are great family activities
for snorkeling.
Snuba
tours are also included in the complement of Kauai snorkel trips. Snuba
is a cross between scuba diving and snorkeling. A scuba tank is allowed
to float on a floatation device at the surface above you. You swim
perhaps twenty feet or so below and inhale air through a tube or hose.
There are no tanks on your back. These tours also have entry from the
shoreline so many beginners feel a bit more comfortable in trying this
new experience. |

Snorkel with the experts! SeaFun Kauai is a shore based, half day
snorkel tour led by expert guides. Pick-up at most hotels is included,
as well as all your equipment. Guides spend up to two hours in the water
with you! It is a fun tour for active people, from non-swimmers to
divers. Video is taken of your snorkel tour, starring you and the
beautiful marine life. The tour's video is viewed in the van on the way
back and can be purchased. Soft drinks and lunch are included.
Quality snorkel equipment including wetsuits, optical masks weight belts
and flotation devices if needed.
Pick-up times vary between 8:30 and 9:45 am. Return is about 4 1/2 hours
later.Hotel pick-up is included on the South Shore and as far North as
Kapaa. |

HOLOHOLO CHARTERS is a family owned and operated company. Both of
its vessels were built on Kauai by the owner of HoloHolo Charters, Kevin
Millett.
In 1988 the Milletts sailed from California to Maui where he was hired
to build the Trilogy III. Understanding the demand for a truly world
class touring company on Kauai, Kevin and his wife Marcie Millett have
created HoloHolo Charters.
In 1990 the Milletts moved to Kauai where they established their own
business. Multi's by Millett was begun; today it is regarded as one of
Hawaii's premier multi-hull design and boat building businesses. The
company first built "Leila" in 1992 on Kauai. After building
several multihulls, Kevin saw an opportunity in 1997 to establish his
own tour company. He designed and built the 61' motor catamaran "HoloHolo".
In 2002 the "Northwind" a 42' monohull, designed after a Navy
Reconnaissance boat was purchased and a new, shorter trip of the NaPali
Coast is offered and can take passengers from 2 years and up.

along Kauai's majestic NaPali Coast on board the "NORTHWIND" a 42
foot all aluminum, custom built Navy reconnaissance hull powerboat:
built for Kauai's lively waters. The vessel is equipped with a swim
deck, fresh water shower and a marine lavatory. Its' best feature,
however is that it has a smokestack so that you smell no exhaust, it
rides very smoothly on the water, has cushioned seating in the shade and
curtains to pull down in the main cabin to stay dry.
