Kiteboard Maui Sailing Center

Kiteboarding is a new sport, thrilling to watch, but potentially
dangerous and frustrating for beginners who do not carefully learn the
basics before heading out on the water. As the sport progresses,
lessosns and teaching styles progress also. Instead of years learning on
your own, the Kiteboard Maui approach will give you the skills to enter
the water safely and develop rapidly. Instructors have undergone full
safety training and utilizes the teaching methods of International
Kiteboarding Organization IKO, Hawaii Kiteboarding Association HAK, the
Aloha Spirit.
Equipment provided: helmets, life vests, and a full range of kites and
training boards, color course book, certification card, continuing
on-line support.
Locations: KANAHA or WAILEA BEACH
Includes: Rash guards, bootys, life jackets, snacks and beverages.
Classes are Monday-Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, weather permitting

DISCOVER KITEBOARDING - This 3 hour lesson gives an overview of
the sport. Your time includes: introduction to equipment, principles
of Kite Flying on land and in the water including harness use, flying
in the power zones, water launching, body dragging, safety rules,
self-rescue, water start with board. |

BEGINNER KITEBOARDING - 10 full hours of Kiteboard instruction
spread over any three days. Course includes principles of kite
launching, safety rules, self-rescue, body draging, water start with
board, solo take-off, assisted landing and solo landing, first tacks,
kite adjusting, maintaining speed. Your instructor will sail with you
while guiding students to gain a solid understaning of Kiteboard
safety and will experience a range of different equipment in a variety
of wind conditions. This course gives you excellent information to
enjoy the sport safely. |

"SCOTCH MIST" is 50' Santa Cruz Sailing Yacht that can accommodate up to
25 passengers. She is the fastest boat of her class in the state. In
1984 she won the Victoria to Maui Yacht Race. Private sail trips are
