 When
was the last time you were on a submarine ride to see the fish? Off
the coast of Waikiki on Oahu you'll have an opportunity to do just
that.
Atlantis Submarine cruises will take you on a submarine cruise on one
of their 5 million dollar underwater viewing vessels to depths of over
100 feet and stay submerged for approximately 40 minutes!
This is not your typical glass bottom boat ride, as this Atlantis
submarine boat actually submerges to the ocean floor. Large window
ports are located at every seat, the cabin is fully air-conditioned
with lots of ventilation and the underwater viewing is spectacular.
You will see the fish from a vantage point that would be unavailable
to you through other means. Even scuba divers would have difficulty
submerging to this depth and staying down for this length of time.
You will view the sealife at the reefs off Waikiki and even visit one
of the largest sunken ships in the waters of Oahu, the YD-257.
Your underwater adventure will begin as you're picked-up at your
Waikiki hotel, You will then be delivered to the harbor where you
board the special Atlantis shuttle boat which takes you out to the
actual submarine itself which is already poised over its dive site in
the channel. After transferring to the submarine your descent
will begin. As the submarine makes its initial submersion into the
blue Pacific your breath will be taken away as you get your first
glimpse of the underwater world.
You'll see much sealife and many fish and enjoy encounters with
the White Tip Reef Sharks are not uncommon. As you descend deeper you
will notice the colors inside the submarine cabin changing as the
light is filtered from the water above. Once at the sea floor you’ll
be immersed in the world of the fish and the underwater sealife. This
boat tour is highly educational and is recommended for children,
however they must be over the height of 3 ft tall. |
