Situated in a paradisiacal setting on the
Motu Tu Vahine (Island of the Woman), a private little island
of only 10 acres, in the middle of the lagoon of Tahaa, the
Hotel VAHINE ISLAND has everything to make your stay in
paradise an unforgettable one.
In order to preserve the intimacy and authenticity of the
Hotel, the owner has created a small scale format, purposely
limiting the number of bungalows to nine, using pure
Polynesian traditional building materials and techniques.
White sand beaches, a magnificent coconut grove full of light
and shadows, a coral garden full of underwater splendors, a
full range of blue hues splashed across the lagoon, and a
backdrop of superb sunsets over Bora Bora will take your
breath away, and remain forever etched in your memories of
this unbelievable place.
This is one of those exceptional spots that steps outside of
time, unique and spellbinding, where calm and sensuality
harmonize with charm and serenity ...
Professionalism, consideration, and availability are the
special attributes of our staff at Vahine.

The Complete Continental breakfast, enhanced with local and
"house" specialties, such as Mango Marmelade, Vanilla Yogurt
with locally produced vanilla, fresh tropical fruit salad,
prepared by our master chef.
Lunch on the beach facing the lagoon, light refreshing fare,
served by our Tahitian Lovelies in traditional gay floral
print dresses.
In the evening, our restaurant beckons with refined and
romantic candlelight dinners. The diversity of offerings and
subtle art of a local and French cuisine synthesis, in
addition to the excellent wine menu, has garnered our "table"
an outstanding reputation.
A few of the notable dishes proffered by our French Chef,
listed in major restaurant guides :
Tuna Sashimi with local berries, pickled cabbage and fresh
coriander.
Crispy Shrimp/Prawn, with tender baby vegetables in coconut
milk.
Mahi Mahi steak, flavored with Tahaa vanilla, served with
Igname (a local root vegetable) chips .
Salmon of the Gods, tagliatelle of vegetables wrapped in
banana leaf .
Farm raised Chicken, stuffed with pota (a green leafy
vegetable) and creamy curry and coconut sauce.
Almond tender cake with roasted mangoes and cinnamon honey .
Chocolate chip Pralines in blanc manger coco
Paper thin Pineapple wedges with Taro root ice cream .
The bar
A unique example of Polynesian artistry: an assortment of
exotic woods (the floor is a mosaic of Aito, or Ironwood;
coconut trunks and bamboo) volcanic stones from Tahaa- is open
all day for your pleasure.
Our barman is happy to introduce you to a fine selection of
original cocktails and delightful flavors mixed from local
fresh fruit juices and Polynesian spirits.
